In most of the human societies, the assumption is that women are more delicate than men. Women tend to be physically smaller than men, posses less testosterone or musculature, have more estrogen etc. All these aspects have created the assumption that women are weaker than men.
Do you agree to the above? No. I don’t. There is a thought deep in my mind “whether they are weak or made weak by us?“. What does it mean to say “walk like a girl” or “sit like a girl” or “throw like a girl“? Lets hear how these statements affect young children.
Study says that children are in ‘fantasy‘ phase from birth to 11 years, where they try to make their elders or people around them as role models. As they grow and interact with others, his/her horizon widens. They take in information, formulates likes and dislikes. At this age, if we are signifying that girls are weaker and can not compete, then they tend to follow it mentally. They start becoming weak, depend on others for decision making etc. Its our responsibility to take care that a girl child is never underestimated in our society.
