Helping is a two way process. It not only helps the one in need but give the helper a sense of satisfaction, a inner peace. Its not about how big, small or how much you help rather its about the feeling behind and intentions. Although the act of helping can be momentary, the effects are long lasting in terms of increase life expectancy and reduces stress.


Here are few ways in which you can helps others

1: Lend a ear to hear: We all deal with a lot of pent up emotions daily and sometimes all we need is someone who can hear us out or provide us the space to vent without any judgement. This can not only make the person feel good but helps build trust.


2: Being nice to someone: Small gesture like a smile, compliment can help elevate the others mood and make them feel good.


3: Lending a helping hand: There are times when one has to juggle a lot at the same time and finds its hard to cope with it. In times like this offering a hand can help de-stress.


4: Share what you have: In terms of resources, knowledge or even food will not only help the other in need but in turn will help us connect more to people and build a network.


5: Affirming and supporting the other: Just being there for others and reaffirming their actions when they have a self doubt helps empower them and gives a sense of support and empowerment.


6: Give a call/ message/email: Imagine how would if feel if you sudden got a message/ call from an old friend, one you had lost touch with. The feeling that someone remembered us and stopped to ask how we were doing.


7: Giving away something you don’t use: Donate what you think you would not use instead of throwing them away. What might not be of our want might be someone else’s need.
