Sarath Chandra is a 24-year-old, calm-headed, and soft-spoken individual who is currently preparing for competitive exams.
He completed his B.Tech in Electronics at G. Pulla Reddy Engineering College and later pursued an M.Tech in Computer Science from VIT Vellore.
He was born and brought up in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, and lives with his dad, who is an advocate, and his stay-at-home mom. Growing up, Sarath described himself as a shy child, often battling an inferiority complex and speaking only to a few close friends and select family members.
Over time, he evolved into a more social and outgoing person. From participating in cultural events to spending time with friends, Sarath gradually stepped out of his shell. His interests range from reading books and playing outdoor games to learning programming languages.
Despite this active learning mindset, life after graduation brought confusion and uncertainty for Sarath. He found himself at a crossroads, unsure whether to take a job or pursue higher studies after completing his undergraduate studies. This phase left him feeling nervous and hopeless, prompting him to consider seeking professional support.
Sarath discovered his college’s tie-up with the YourDOST platform through an email and a circular shared by his college. He reached out and connected with the expert available on the platform.

In his first few sessions, he struggled to open up and share his thoughts, but over time, he began to feel more at ease. He began to express his confusion and doubts to the counselor.
He explains that he discussed his issues with procrastination and how much he wanted to develop a good attitude towards life.
“My counselor gave me a lot of clarity. She asked me to weigh the pros and cons of both studying and working. She also advised me to speak to my parents and involve them in the decision.”
As Sarath wanted to build his confidence and develop healthy habits, the sessions focused on helping him establish a structured thought process. His counselor encouraged him to prepare a daily timetable, keep track of his progress, and reflect on his goals regularly. With each session, Sarath felt more clarity and motivation building up within him.
“My self-esteem began increasing slowly. My counselor would ask me to update her about the changes in me, and that helped me track my progress and stay motivated.”
Even though Sarath took only a few sessions, the impact was significant. He now feels more grounded and clear-headed about his future path. The sessions helped him improve his self-belief and reduce the sense of nervousness he once carried, and he intends to continue them whenever he feels stuck.
“I’m very grateful to my counselor and the platform for where I’m today. They gave me encouragement and direction. If I need help in the future, I won’t hesitate to reach out again.”
Sarath rates himself a 3 out of 5 in terms of how he feels now and continues to work on his growth. He is determined to transition from his current state of life to one where he feels a sense of accomplishment.
We are proud of his progress and wish him the very best in all his future pursuits.
