Glima’s Journey From Anxiety To Awareness with Counseling

3 minutes

Glima William works in content and operations at Entri. She is also a loving mother to a four-year-old who loves to dance, colour, and find beauty in the little things.

Glima shares that for a long time, she wasn’t even fully aware of how much anxiety was affecting her daily life. She often felt overwhelmed, but didn’t know that she could seek help or that things could feel any different.

“It took me time to realise that I don’t have to live constantly anxious or carry everything alone. Therapy helped me see that there’s a way to work through these emotions, and that I’m capable of feeling free, calm, and in control.”

That realisation marked a turning point. It wasn’t about fixing everything at once, but about learning that her thoughts and emotions were valid and manageable. Therapy offered her a space to be heard without judgment, and slowly, she began to feel more grounded and hopeful.

When her company partnered with YourDOST to offer accessible mental health services, she saw it as a much-needed opportunity. She considered giving it a try, as therapy was provided at no cost.

“I had already experienced how transformative therapy could be and how vital mental health support becomes, so the partnership felt like a blessing.”

As she started having sessions with the available experts on the platform, Glima explains that she felt heard and understood. She says that there was a lot of difference between sharing her issues with one of her friends and a professional therapist. It made her feel seen, and she appreciated how the sessions provided a safe space with no judgment.

She shared with the counselor how anxious and hopeless she felt in her daily life and the painful situation she was in at the time.

“My therapist showed me how anger was deeply rooted in some of my self-perceptions.”

Glima elaborates that the self-awareness of her emotions was a turning point. She also explains that the sessions gave her an opportunity for self-realisation about her lifestyle and thought patterns. She says that she could finally move from a victim mindset to being empowered.

She adds that she had a massive shift when she attended a 6-month program that covered DISC personality types, inner balance, life purpose, psychoeducation, boundaries, intimacy and relationships, etc. That structure gave her clarity, and a lot of what therapists were trying to say began to make absolute sense to her.

As Glima recognised her triggers, her overthinking and anxiety reduced to a greater extent. She thanks the counselors for helping her become more mindful, more intentional, and more in control.

She rates herself 4 out of 5, and we are happy for all the progress Glima has made. We wish her all the best for her future.

Glima William’s Warrior Tips:
1.“Mental health isn’t something you just move on from. It should be discussed and addressed more consciously.”
2.“Therapy is not a luxury; it’s a necessity.”
3.“Become aware of mental wellness, not just for yourself but for your children, your relationships, and the world around you.”
