In Love, Give Yourself Another Chance

IN BRIEF: In this post we look into a case of a young woman who lay shattered post a breakup, and had shut all doors to accept love again. But, something turned things around for her. We also see why we should never stay emotionally cocooned.

In every change, in every falling leaf there is some pain, some beauty. And that’s the way new leaves grow.” ― Unknown

Beautiful days of past still haunts her, gifts given by him still shatters her and yes even after 2 years she cries for him like it was just yesterday he broke her heart. She knew he loved her a lot and it was the circumstances which never favoured them, but she also knew he could have tried a little harder and then life would have been different.

Every day she asked herself, “when will you be over him?”. She has wonderful friends, yet there was some emptiness which always surrounded her and she completely forgot who she was. In the race to keep herself busy she lost her charm and then came an unusual day when someone asked to just meet her, was it a date? Well she refused but he promised her it won’t be a date and would just want to spend time with her.

She was confused yet agreed for “over a coffee talk”, hesitantly she entered the mesmerising place and there he was waiting for her. Less did she know this will change her world. They talked for hours, she was totally at ease with him and shared stories. It was a good time they spent together and discussed every possible thing from movies to break-ups, even about waterparks. They didn’t realise that it had already been 2 hours.

He dropped her home and expressed how glad he was, slowly gave peck on her cheek, the one you give it to a little kid. But she wasn’t expecting that and rushed to her place. Hugging the huge teddy bear, she suddenly realised that it was after ages she felt special, it was after a long time she felt important and cared, even though it was just few hours at the cafe and a half an hour drive which they had spent together. The interaction with the guy had slowly, vicariously had changed her life for better.

Was it Infatuation, or was it Love? No, it was neither, but was a reminder for her that “Girl you are special in your own way “, this made her realise that she needs to give a chance to her life and to herself. Tears will never stop, memories will always be there but what she needs is to move on and experience the beauty of life. She needs to let others make her feel special and not close the doors to be loved again. He taught her a lesson that, what happened with her was wrong but that doesn’t mean happiness won’t knock again.

She really liked him and had met somebody so decent after so long, for her they clicked well but destiny has its own ways. She still doesn’t know what this meeting meant for him, while for her it changed the way she looks at life. She still waits…may be someday she gets a chance to know him better or at least say a word of thanks but is too scared to tell him as he might take it wrongly.

All she knows for now is that sometimes some people can magically change your life and they won’t even know how they have made such a huge impact on someone’s life and turned the world around for them. All she wishes every day is to just get a chance to say ‘Thanks” and tell him what a magician he has been and meeting him was a life changing experience for her.
