Snigdha’s Story Of Finding Her Routine Back With YourDOST

Snigdha Rawat is a 25-year-old Partner in Talent Acquisition at Capillary, Bangalore.

Hailing from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, Snigdha spent most of her childhood and teenage years there. After her undergraduate studies, she moved to Bangalore to pursue a career.

Snigdha comes from a nuclear family, including her parents. She explains that as a single child, she was pampered a lot by her parents.

“I always got what I wanted and was closer to my parents. After shifting to a new city, it was difficult for me to survive independently initially.”

Snigdha considers getting acquainted in Bangalore one of her recent challenges to overcome. She joined Capillary in 2021, and during her onboarding session, she was briefed about the company’s subscription to the YourDOST platform while explaining the employee benefits.

She started using the self-help resources on the platform and taking well-being quizzes, like the happiness quiz. She found them helpful and began participating in every online and offline activity held by YourDOST in her office.

“The webinars by YourDOST are interesting, and I always make it a priority to attend those. I also ask my colleagues and friends to attend whenever the topic feels relevant to them.”

Snigdha recollects attending the webinar during a stressful day when she was facing personal and professional issues. It helped her learn strategies to overcome her anxious state of mind.

She elaborates that as someone who overthinks a lot, understanding how to rewire her thoughts and not delve into negative thinking was significant for staying motivated and focusing on her priorities.

“The expert in the webinar guided us to redirect our minds to something we love and away from the stressor as a first step. It worked and helped me overcome the emotions I was feeling.”

Snigdha adds that listening to the psychologist in the sessions and reading more articles relating to mental health made her decide to give time for herself and her interests outside work.

She says that she paused all her hobbies when she was in that career-focused phase, which was also a reason for feeling more stressed.

Realising her needs, Snigdha eventually rejoined her dance fitness classes and attended workshops as she has always been passionate about dancing. She also started exploring places whenever she had time and found interest in solo travelling.

Getting back to her old routine calmed her down, and the sessions through YourDOST helped her learn ‘the art of overcoming her overthinking patterns’, says Snigdha.

Snigdha explains that she has also attended the activities conducted by YourDOST in her office, which gave her relaxation between work schedules.

“Using the happiness meter and waiting for the score was exciting and made me cheerful. Even the activity where the employees delivered dialogues and sang songs helped build confidence and not think about embarrassing myself.”

She adds that spending a few minutes on these activities makes her whole day contentful, and she has stopped holding herself back in social settings. Snigdha elaborates that she feels grateful to YourDOST and the team for gearing up her mind and nudging her towards a healthy direction.

As she rates herself 4 out of 5,  Snigdha looks forward to improving herself and having a professional and personal life. We wish her all the best in all her future endeavours.

Snigdha’s Warrior Tips:
1.“Prioritise mental health as much as your physical health.”
2.“Never ignore your passion when you have a busy work schedule; taking time for self-care is important.”
