Here’s How Deepak Found Balance and Inner Strength Through Therapy.

In the world of cricket, they say that a well-timed shot can change the course of a game, just as a single moment can change the course of a life. Deepak, hailing from the heartland of Bareli, Uttar Pradesh, is a testament to this notion. In his life, he’s met unpredictable twists and turns, but his passion and determination have led him to score remarkable victories in the game of life.

Deepak is currently 28 years old and has pursued his Master’s in Business Administration. Growing up in a joint family with over 30 members, he developed a deep bond with his relatives, cherishing the warmth of unity that surrounded him.

“My parents have worked extremely hard to educate me. I have a great relationship with them, and I always try to work hard at what I do.”

While his roots firmly grounded him in family values, Deepak has wings of his own. He possesses a unique set of hobbies that set him apart.

He has a knack for crafting melodies and producing music. It is his sanctuary where he can pour his heart out and fuel his creative spirit. Cricket is another passion that holds a special place in his heart.

Cricket, often described as a game of uncertainties, became an essential part of Deepak’s life.

“When I came to Bangalore to study, I felt overwhelmed during the time of my college placements. I was worried that I might not have control over what my future would be.”

In the game of cricket, it’s said that patience is a virtue, and Deepak has always been patient, always there for his family and his friends. However, the weight of responsibility grew heavier with time.

“Our family went through a very difficult time when we lost my father. I wanted to be there for them in every way I could.”

Deepak mentions that there was one breaking point when he lashed out at his friends for the first time. He deeply regretted it and took this as a signal that he needed to regain his composure. It was then that he decided to seek counseling, a decision he made on his own, acknowledging that he needed assistance to navigate the rough terrain of his emotions.

“I heard about YourDOST from my college in Bangalore. I was determined to get a hold of things before they became worse so I booked my first session with my therapist, Ms. Ashita.”

Deepak mentions that Ms. Ashita helped him feel comfortable and at ease right from the beginning of their sessions. She was a great listener, and always patient and willing to help him.

One of Ms. Ashita’s brilliant techniques was to encourage Deepak to channel his emotions into his music, and to write songs that resonated with his feelings. She recognised that this creative outlet could be a powerful tool for his healing.

It was as if she handed him a cricket bat and told him to play his shots with confidence. His self-esteem improved, and he began to find his rhythm again in his everyday life.

Slowly, Deepak started to feel the positive changes in his life. There was a time when he would turn to self-blame every time something went wrong. Now, with the help of his counselor, he approaches obstacles with a more calm and confident perspective.

He learned to adapt, just as a batsman adjusts his stance to different deliveries. He also reconnected with his friends, demonstrating the same patience and understanding that had always been his hallmark.

“I feel very lucky to have my counselor in my life. I’m extremely grateful for always listening, and always encouraging me to be the best version of myself.”

Deepak’s journey reminds us that in the game of life, we all face deliveries that deviate from our expectations. He emphasizes the importance of seeking help when you need it and breaking the stigma surrounding mental health issues.

In the end, Deepak rates himself a 3.5 out of 5 in terms of feeling better, acknowledging the tremendous growth he has experienced in his counseling journey. Just like in cricket, where even a single boundary can change the course of a game, seeking help and embracing change can redefine the course of our lives, helping us reach our true potential and score big in the game of life.

Deepak’s Warrior Tips:
1.“There is absolutely nothing wrong with asking for help. Only when you do it, you’ll realise the amount of good that can come from it.”
2.“Don’t be in a rush in your healing process. Everyone’s journey is unique, so take your time and do things at your own pace.”
