The way we think, feel and behave is what determines our personality. We are all different and thus vary in all these aspects. This theory developed by Adler focuses on how our birth order can influence our personality. We are divided into First born, Middle child, Second born, Last born and the only child. The order in which we are born influence our style of living and how we relate to other people and the environment in general. This influence keeps changing with the change in our external factors like number of children, spacing between them and also the the changing conditions of the parents over time.
