i think that's just guys being a little... One-dimensional when they see a girl approaching them.

teenage mind of a guy is annoyingly binary, and that's due to the
naivety of youth, which is part and parcel of developing maturity. We
think that it's either a) we're gonna hook up or b) we're not gonna hook up.
be fair, I've loads of girl friends, too (no typos there). And yes, I
might have developed some feelings for some of them, but that didn't
mean I couldn't stay with them as friends.
I eventually came to
the realisation that sometimes it's perfectly fine to have another
friend of the opposite sex, as a platonic relationship typically lasts
longer than a romantic one anyway.
So my advice to you? Keep
making friends, and eventually you'll stumble upon some awesome guy who
will be your good buddy for life (who's also content with not being
romantically involved with you).
