Open university is not for losers. The syllabus here is no less harder than a regular course. Moreover, there will be only a few classes. So, the lectures that we can attend in regular course will be absent. I think, passing from open University is even tougher. The only easy part here is the admission. The criteria for admission is much relaxed than in a regular college.
You may also think carefully about which subject you like to take. To choose subjects for glamour or competitive exams will only make the student bored. UPSC has vast range of optional papers.
If you decide to go for distance education please make sure the university is registered under UGC. Netaji Open University or IGNOU are good options.
