I understand how you must be feeling everyday. But you see, that's the fear you have to target and eliminate first. Then you can fulfill the next target of being yourself. For example, eating together (if you are not doing that) or just sitting in the same room. Just talk yet. Gradually you can start talking about his day was and doing small things for him.
I know one thing for sure, he is your father and no father can stop loving their child. So, you do things for him and he will melt with time.
