Yes, this is how 22 year old Varsha Gopal who\u2019s currently pursuing Architecture at Rajalakshmi School of Architecture, describes herself.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What further makes her stand out from the crowd is her confident personality and self-awareness.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cIt&#8217;s funny that I was always sure of what I don&#8217;t want to pursue in my career. I didn&#8217;t want to simply fit in. So I chose architecture as it clicked with my inclination towards creativity.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since Varsha\u2019s father was a musician, she never found herself being forced into going for a mainstream career. She\u2019s fierce with her choices but when it comes to comfort zone, she finds it in Chennai.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>\u201cI was born and brought up in Chennai. This is my comfort zone but I&#8217;m also someone who&#8217;s wanting to get out of a place because you need to grow and learn.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>But something at the back of Varsha\u2019s mind always bothered her and this something was her inability to address her problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cI remember being embarrassed about having problems. I couldn\u2019t even understand which though is toxic and which isn\u2019t\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks to Varsha\u2019s friend from Psychology background and her strong decision making, one fine day she realized that she was ready to talk.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/yourdost.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Varsh-image-2-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-19603 lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 638px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 638\/354;\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>\u201cI wasn\u2019t exposed to therapy. I knew it existed but didn&#8217;t know how significant it was. When I came to know about YourDOST through my college, I knew I had to try it out.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>With therapy, Varsha found herself peeling layers of realizations related to therapy and myths that had been keeping her from seeking support. She could see how an expert never tells one what to do but rather let them decide.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cAll experts do is make you understand how you can do it and that&#8217;s beautiful.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Having experienced situations where she had faced criticism for having a different opinion, Varsha was also shocked to get responses like \u201cI understand\u201d, \u201cIt happens\u201d. She felt nice being understood.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As Varsha started making progress with her counselor, Rashmi Kaur, she started collecting pieces of problems she knew she had to work on.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>\u201cI wasn&#8217;t aware of self-love. I was dependent on too many people for my emotions because I couldn\u2019t take being judged and had to please them.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>With age and time, her problems would mature is what Varsha thought but couldn\u2019t really see it happening. So she tried addressing them with the help of Rashmi.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/yourdost.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/warriorstory-blog-varsha-1-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-19604 lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 640px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 640\/350;\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cThings like insecurities and failed relationships still bothered me. I wasn&#8217;t moving forward. It was disturbing. With therapy, I could name my feelings and give them reasons.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Talking about her counselor, Rashmi, Varsha can\u2019t help expressing her gratitude towards her for being a great listener, patient, unbiased and available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>\u201cI had so much to share and there was no skipping. She was very empathetic. She made sure she first heard everything and then moved to the suggestions part.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>With Rashmi, Varsha started forming a plan for herself. Since she couldn&#8217;t make her mind work due to being stuck, Rashmi helped her with a framework of \u2018whys\u2019.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cMy counselor told me why I was feeling what I was feeling.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, when Varsha looks back at how far she\u2019s come, she can see the progress shining in front of her. From losing interest in doing things she loved such as music, she now enjoys being her true self again.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>\u201cI\u2019d like to call my overall improvement as \u2018progressive\u2019 and that\u2019s why I\u2019d rate myself as a 3 on a scale of 1 to 5 of feeling better.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background\" style=\"background-color: #677373;\"><strong>Varsha\u2019s Warrior Tips:<\/strong><br \/><strong>1.The first step is the most difficult. Once you cross this your counselor will make it so comfortable that you&#8217;d want to take bigger steps. <\/strong><br \/><strong>2. People forget that body and mind re together. <\/strong><br \/><strong>3.
