Originally from the vibrant heart of Hyderabad, Dhathri is a 26-year-old individual working as a technical recruiter in Randstad. Apart from her career, she has a deep passion for art, cooking, and listening to music. Her life was a canvas painted with the hues of creativity and the flavours of the kitchen.
Though she’s close to her family, she wasn’t particularly communicative with them. She cherished the quiet moments, the unspoken understanding that bound them together.
However, the canvas of Dhathri’s romantic relationship told a different story.
“My partner and I used to have many unnecessary fights. I tended to take them too personally. It was an issue I wanted to work on.”
Dhathri mentions that one of her biggest challenges was her impatience. She constantly craved answers and reassurance, especially from her partner.
“Because I struggle with patience, I constantly felt clingy with my partner. I displaced my insecurities, becoming toxic for both of us.”
She also mentions that she would make decisions quite impulsively at times. Though they would be satisfactory initially, Dhathri regretted her choices quite often.
Being in a relationship isn’t always easy. It requires work, attention, patience, and tolerance. Even the best relationships can be challenging at the best of times.
Dhathri was determined to break the toxic cycle in her relationship and work on improving their communication. She knew this would start once she began a journey of working on herself individually first.
“I first heard about YourDOST through my workplace, Randstad. I thought this would be a good opportunity to acquire guidance to understand more about my insecurities and work on myself.”
Her counselor, Ms. Aakrithi, became her guide and mentor, leading her on the path to self-improvement.
“Ms. Aakrithi made me feel very heard and understood. There was never a time when she would tell me what exactly to do. She would help me realise what I needed to work on by myself.”
Through their sessions, Ms. Aakrithi bestowed upon Dhathri techniques to manage her anxiety, helping her understand the root causes of it and how to embrace them rather than avoid them. Dhathri used these tools with unwavering perseverance, recognising that her journey was not a quick sketch but a detailed painting in progress.
As she implemented these techniques, her life began transforming, like a rough sketch evolving into a detailed masterpiece. The colours of patience and self-awareness merged seamlessly into her existence. The canvas of her relationship slowly shifted from disarray to harmony, as if she had discovered the perfect blend of hues to create a serene landscape.
“Through this journey, not only have I learned more about myself but also had the chance to grow in my relationship. I’m extremely grateful to Ms. Aakrithi for being patient, and always believing in me.”
Dhathri’s journey is not a quick sketch but a masterpiece in progress. It was a process that required time, dedication, and effort. She embraced every brushstroke of growth and acceptance.
Her story is a testament to the power of self-reflection and the willingness to seek help when needed. She turned her impulsive decisions into thoughtful masterpieces, her turbulent relationship into a harmonious symphony, and her once-tangled life into a beautiful canvas of growth.
She rates herself 4 out of 5 in terms of feeling better, acknowledging that there is always room for improvement, just as an artist continually refines their work. We are incredibly proud of her and we wish her all the best for her future.
