Lazy people are those who do not carry out certain tasks because of the efforts involved. Instead, they perform other tasks which are less demanding or simply stay idle. The tasks are such that do not seem to provide immediate gratification. The problem arises when lazy people are disinclined to trust a result which is uncertain.
The ancient philosopher Epicurus famously argues that pleasure is the highest good. But he also cautioned that not everything that is pleasurable should be pursued, and not everything that is painful should be avoided.
