IN BRIEF: In this post we look into the various types of LAUGHTER. Not only this, we also analyse, the variety of REASONS why we laugh.
Laughter is a means to social connection. It is said that people are 30% more likely to laugh in a social gathering than when alone, at the same humour inducing content.
This means that you are more likely to laugh with your mates at a movie or a comedy show, than while watching them by yourself.
We all agree that there are variety of ways to laugh, such as giggle, cackle, guffaw, snort, etc. However, the reasons why we laugh out number the types of laughter. On an average, not every one of us possess a similar sense of humour. What makes me laugh might not even make you react. Our education, upbringing, skills, lifestyle and many more such factors determine and shape our sense of humour.
To talk about the various TYPES of laughter, I, personally have come across some ridiculous types, I’m sure you would have too. Have you noticed some people who just press their eyes with a big grin on the face, but no sound? And, there are certain others who make a lot of noise, with minimal facial movement. Here is British Comedian Michael McIntyre talking about the silent-laughter.
As we have established, there are many varieties of laughter. Here is a video about HOW and WHEN we laugh. Remember what we laugh at and how we laugh at that moment tells a lot about us. Watch the video.
