7 Tips To Excel In UPSC Prelims 2015

4 minutes
With less than 2 days remaining for one of the most prestigious exams of India, we all are tensed about how it would go. We are confident yet nervous about the dream we have been working so hard for. It might be the first, second or the last attempt for some.

The nervousness is not because you did not study for it, but because of the uncertainty you are about to face in a couple of days. We asked our experts for tips on how best you could utilize the last 2 days for excelling in the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) exam.

Do Not Study: Do not start any new topic. Rather, revise the portions which you have already studies or have prepared notes for.

Self Talk: A mirror talk is a must to make yourself believe that you have already done all the hard work and its just above showing that on D-Day.

Stay hydrated: Drink a lot of water. It helps you stay calm and relaxed.

Stay Healthy: Study says that the probability of an aspirant falling sick increases during the last few days of exam. This is due to high level of stress making the body an easy prey to the changing weather conditions. Take care of yourself and try to follow a normal routine of eating and sleeping.

Read motivational stories: Its advised to read motivational experiences of previous UPSC aspirations. The brain functions the best when it is able to relate to some experience thereby making it much more effective.

Get some rest: Avoid all sorts of craving for slogging to cover the syllabus. You have been working hard the entire year (or more). What matters is how well you execute that on the last day. Sleep plays a major role in forming our memory and helping us remember what we have studies so far.

Stay Calm: Last minute anxiety is a common phenomena. It not only makes us nervous but also has a bad effect on the functioning of our memory. So whatever it be, stay calm and GO FOR IT!

Believe in Yourself

There may be days when you get up in the morning and things aren’t the way you had hoped they would be.
That’s when you have to tell yourself that things will get better. There are times when people disappoint you and let you down.
But those are the times when you must remind yourself to trust your own judgments and opinions, to keep your life focused on believing in yourself.
There will be challenges to face and changes to make in your life, and it is up to you to accept them.
Constantly keep yourself headed in the right direction for you. It may not be easy at times, but in those times of struggle you will find a stronger sense of who you are.
So when the days come that are filled with frustration and unexpected responsibilities, remember to believe in yourself and all you want your life to be.
Because the challenges and changes will only help you to find the goals that you know are meant to come true for you.
